PHP 4, PHP 5, PHP 7 and PHP 8 Support in Shared Hosting
Our shared hosting servers support several PHP versions, which goes to say that your sites will run properly even if your PHP-based scripts are outdated. We accept the fact that an old site does not necessarily mean an insecure one as you may have implemented a lot of source code modifications. This is why we support PHP 4, PHP 5, PHP 7 and PHP 8 and you can select which version will be enabled for your shared web hosting account. You can change the version with one click through your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and the update will take effect instantly. If you wish to run both older and newer scripts, there is even a possibility to use a different version of PHP for each domain name of yours simultaneously.
PHP 4, PHP 5, PHP 7 and PHP 8 Support in Semi-dedicated Servers
Even if your sites were built with an older version of PHP, you will be able to host them in a semi-dedicated server account from us, as we support different versions running at the same time on our semi-dedicated servers and each one of them can be enabled for your account with no more than a click of the mouse through our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Other than the newest PHP 8, we also support 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 and the older PHP 4. The latter has already been dropped by the vast majority of hosting vendors, but we strongly hold that you shouldn’t be forced to modify a site that took several years to build, since older programming language syntax doesn’t invariably equal safety weaknesses. Just the opposite, an adequately maintained site using PHP 4 can be more secure than an incompetently maintained one using PHP 5. For your convenience, we’ll also provide you with the possibility to select a different version for each single website within your account.
